Yen broke into movies when he was discovered by Yuen Wo-ping; while Drunken Tai Chi was delayed from filming, Yen was asked to observe behind camera on Miracle Fighters 2, the director's then current actioner. Because of his extraordinary physical abilities, Yen doubled for the five Yuen brothers and Eddie Ko, performing incomparable actions. The film is a Wo-ping version of The Prince and the Pauper, but with great fights, slapstick humor, magic and treachery.

For the first time, Yen's strong physical skills, especially his sharpness, speed, flexibility, and kicking, appeared onscreen, and his unique abilities continue to be seen there today.
