We are meeting the millenium and we need to break new ground. I took the opportunity when a distributor wanted me to act in one of those low budget movies where I can make a quick buck and he can make quick big bucks. I acted and directed and I wanted to approach it completely as a breakthrough. It's kind of crazy. The cuts are so fast it's overbearing. It's a different type of approach. If you're expecting a martial arts movie where you can see each movement, this is not your movie. But if you want excitement, you will get excited by it, with the fast cuts, the violence, the emotion and lots of drama. I think martial arts is just part of a film, and I never separate it. I want to make a good film with good martial arts in it. I want to be addressed not as a good martial arts director or actor, but as a good director or actor with great martial arts.
